At Scented Serenity Candles, every fragrance has a name, but more importantly, every name has a story.

My candles aren’t just fragrances I thought would smell good. They’re pieces of my life—memories of the people I love, moments from my childhood, the joy of being a grandmother, and the emotions that have shaped the woman I am today.

Some scents make me smile. Some take me back to my childhood. Others remind me of the people I’ve lost and the strength it took to keep going.

Scented Serenity Candles was created through my journey of grief after losing my father. What started as a way to find peace became a way to share my story through fragrance.

A Father’s Love Never Fades

My dad, Frank, loved smoking his pipe, and Cherry Pipe Tobacco was his favorite. This fragrance is more than a candle to me. It’s a memory of my father and the familiar scent that reminds me of him.

Although he’s no longer here physically, this candle allows me to keep a little piece of him close. Every time I smell it, I’m reminded that love doesn’t end when someone leaves us. It lives on through memories.

Some fragrances bring back memories. This one brings me back to my dad.

Yaya

The Sweetest Name I’ve Ever Been Given

Yaya isn’t just a candle name. It’s what my grandchildren call me.

Being their Yaya is one of the greatest joys of my life. This fragrance represents the unconditional love, laughter, hugs, and precious moments that come with being a grandmother.

With its comforting blend of honey and lavender, Yaya is my way of celebrating a love that is sweet, gentle, and everlasting.

Of all the names I’ve been called, Yaya is one of my favorites.

My faith has carried me through difficult seasons. Learning to love myself has taught me my worth. And the love I have for my family gives my life meaning.

Life has brought me some painful losses. I’ve experienced grief, heartbreak, and seasons when it felt like the rain would never stop.

But through every storm, I still have my children.

They are my reminder that even after experiencing loss, there is still love, purpose, and something beautiful to hold on to.

After the Rain represents resilience, gratitude, and the strength to keep moving forward, even when life doesn’t turn out the way we imagined.

Mocha Café is named after my dog, Mocha.

Our pets become part of our families, filling our lives with companionship, comfort, and unforgettable moments.

This fragrance is a sweet tribute to Mocha and the special place our four-legged family members hold in our hearts.

Saturday Morning Memories

Growing up, there was nothing like Saturday mornings.

I loved waking up, grabbing a bowl of cereal, sitting in front of the television, and watching my favorite cartoons.

No responsibilities. No worries. Just cartoons, cereal, and the simple joy of being a kid.

Weekend Cartoon is my way of bringing those carefree childhood memories back to life.

Sugar Plum was inspired by my grandbaby, who says “Sugar Plum.”

A Celebration of Black Women

She Shine was created as a reminder that, as Black women, we deserve to shine.

Through challenges, sacrifices, responsibilities, and the many roles we carry, we sometimes forget to celebrate ourselves.

This fragrance represents confidence, resilience, beauty, strength, and the light within every Black woman.

We don’t need permission to shine. We were created to do just that.

Nook’s Kitchen

Where Childhood Memories Were Made

Nook is my mother’s nickname.

Growing up, some of my sweetest memories came from the desserts she made in our kitchen. The delicious aromas, the anticipation of something fresh from the oven, and the love she poured into everything she prepared made those moments unforgettable.

Nook’s Kitchen is a collection inspired by those childhood memories and the woman who created them.

Pound Cake — A tribute to the homemade pound cakes my mother made, bringing back memories of the comforting aromas that filled our home.

Banana Pudding — A sweet reminder of my mother’s banana pudding and the desserts that made growing up so special.

Apple Pie — Inspired by the familiar smell of homemade apple pie and the warmth of my mother’s kitchen.

Sweet Potato Pie — A fragrance that brings back memories of family, tradition, and my mother’s homemade sweet potato pies.

Pumpkin Pie — A reminder of the delicious pumpkin pies my mother prepared and the memories that continue to live in my heart.

Throughout my life, I’ve experienced many emotions. Happiness, joy, sadness, anger, anxiety, fear, and grief.

Some emotions were easy to embrace. Others were difficult to understand and even harder to work through.

But each one has been part of my journey.

I created the Emotion Emporium Collection because I wanted to acknowledge something important: it’s okay to feel.

We don’t have to pretend we’re happy every day. We don’t have to hide our grief, suppress our anger, or apologize for having difficult moments.

Every emotion tells us something about ourselves and our experiences.

Through this collection, I want people to feel seen, understood, and reminded that they aren’t alone in what they’re feeling.

Rue Bear is named after my granddaughter, Soyriah Rue.

Inspired by My Four-Legged Girl

Ciara is named after my dog, Ciara.

She had a personality of her own and sometimes needed a little help calming down. Citronella was part of those moments, and it became a scent I associated with her.

This room spray is inspired by those memories and the special bond I shared with Ciara.
